A few things still need to be done before the vote on the Marriage Amendment, May 8th

My friends, we are now in the very last hours of the campaign. So many have done so much in such a short amount of time. Thousands of people have already voted FOR the Marriage Amendment in Early Voting. But there are still just a few things left to do in the final stretch.
- Volunteers are still needed at polling sites. Although numerous people have volunteered to work at polling sites on Tuesday, May 8th. Dan Henson, Grassroots Campaign Coordinator of Vote For Marriage NC, says there are still plenty of polling sites that could use some help. Dan writes, “I’d like to ask you to advocate for truth. Please email me your name, county, and phone number if you are willing to advocate FOR marriage on May 8th.” Dan will give volunteers all the information specific to the area of need. You can reach Dan at 919.780.9605.
- Generous Donations are still needed for TV ads. In recent days, the campaign initiated a “money bomb” to raise necessary funds for television ads to counter the egregious falsehoods by opponents about the Marriage Amendment. Rachel Lee, Communications Director of Vote For Marriage NC writes, “So far we have raised $24,128 of our $50,000 money bomb goal. With the other side spouting falsehoods about the Marriage Protection Amendment, we need your support to keep our ads on the air so that the truth can be heard.” Below are links to two examples of the kinds of ads this money bomb will help provide. - Pastors and lay leaders need to make one last push at church. It is usually the pastor and strong key lay leaders that make the difference in the success or failure of some great Christian initiative. This Sunday, May 6th, will be the last Sunday before the vote on the Marriage Amendment, Tuesday, May 8th. Everyone in church should be reminded about the vote and encouraged to vote on Tuesday. This needs to be done from the pulpit. Church captains or dedicated church volunteers can also call through the church roster and remind everyone of the vote.
- Pray, Pray, Pray, Pray!!! No work done in this effort to protect marriage in North Carolina as one man and one woman is more important than prayer. We should certainly pray for all the matters listed above. Nevertheless, let us also pray that everyone in the Tar Heel state will get out to their local polling places and cast their vote FOR God’s definition of marriage – one man and one woman. Moreover, let’s add to that prayer that a great movement of God would occur across our land that will turn our state and nation back to the eternal principles of His Holy Word. Lastly, please remember to pray for the success of two pastors’ press conferences on the Marriage Amendment scheduled to take place on Monday in Raleigh and Charlotte, May 7th.
