Christian Action League
May 29, 2024
As the summer months approach, the Christian Action League faces its most challenging period. While the warmth of the season often brings joy and relaxation, it also marks a critical time for our mission to protect life and uphold Christian values in North Carolina. Today, we urgently need your support.
You may find this difficult to believe but North Carolina has become the abortion Mecca of the South. With neighboring states like Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky banning the procedure outright, and others like South Carolina and Georgia imposing stricter limitations than our own, our state’s 12-week restriction has made us a destination for those seeking abortions from as far away as Florida, which recently enacted a six-week ban. The statistics are staggering: last year alone, nearly 16,000 abortions were performed in North Carolina on women from outside the Tar Heel state.
This increased accessibility has overwhelmed local clinics, with providers like Planned Parenthood and A Woman’s Choice expanding their operations to meet the rising demand. The Guttmacher Institute reports that North Carolina saw a 41% increase in abortions from 2020 to last year, a number that continues to grow.

It is sad to think some women are so set on ending the life of their child they will drive hundreds of miles, passing dozens of pregnancy resource centers and adoption agencies to get to an abortion clinic. North Carolina is known as a business-friendly state, but the commerce of death is not the kind of business we want.
Although I doubt state lawmakers would seriously consider making further restrictions on abortion during the current Short Session, I do believe we should earnestly pray that state lawmakers would dare to make further changes to abortion law as swiftly as possible.
Moreover, I think it could help if pro-life constituents would speak to their Representatives and Senators about this urgent matter. We at the Christian Action League believe the state needs a six-week ban, aligning North Carolina with our neighboring states and providing greater protection for the unborn.
This summer, we ask you to support us, please. Your generous donation will help us continue our vital work: advocating for life and influencing legislation to safeguard the unborn. Every dollar you give goes toward our mission of making North Carolina a state that truly values and protects life. Please consider contributing today.
Several years ago, some of us would have never believed Roe v. Wade would have fallen by now, but it has and the pro-life cause has made tremendous strides since then. Babies by the thousands are being saved. But there is still much more to do, and at this point, we need to work together to ensure North Carolina does not become a permanent haven for those seeking to end the lives of their unborn children.
Again, I implore you. Please help us.
