Wilber Smith has beautifully written: “Even David Strauss, the bitterest of all opponents of the supernatural elements of the Gospels, whose works did more to destroy faith in Christ than the writings of any other man in modern times – even Strauss, with all his slashing, brilliant, vicious criticisms and his sweeping denials of everything partaking of the miraculous, was forced to confess, toward the end of his life, that in Jesus Christ there is moral perfection. ‘This Christ…is historical, not mythical; is an individual, no mere symbol…He remains the highest model of religion within the reach of our thought; and no perfect piety is possible without his presence in the heart.’”
This Christmas, if you have never made a conscious decision to let Christ into your heart, won’t you do so right away? He will forgive you of all your sins and place his Holy Spirit within. He’ll make a new person out of you. He will bestow upon you freely the gift of eternal life.
Is this your prayer?
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that you are Immanuel, which means “God with us.” I believe in you. I confess that I am a sinner and need the salvation you bring. Forgive and cleanse me of my sins. Come into my heart and change me, make me love you and your ways above any other. Thank you for hearing my prayer. In your name I pray, Amen.
Merry Christmas!!!
