In December 1940, Mrs. A.E. Gadsby of Niagara Falls, Canada, mailed a Christmas parcel to her daughter in Prestwick, Scotland. The ship carrying the mail was torpedoed off the west coast of Ireland, but a favorable tide floated the package and remarkably cast it ashore on the beach of Prestwick. The contents were intact and perfectly usable. The address was still legible and reached the addressee on the holiday. It was something of a Christmas miracle.
Over and again, we have sent word to the churches of our need for financial assistance. Many have graciously responded. We’ve picked up some new donors. Nevertheless, as we approach the end of this year, we still find ourselves behind.

This is what’s outstanding at the moment:
Rent on our office space: $10,800.00
Back Pay to our reporter: $ 4,189.50
Total: $14,989.50
We cannot afford to go into the New Year with this debt.
WE NEED A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!
Our ministry is so strategic to the moral climate of North Carolina. We’ve been able to do so much just within the last two years:
- We’ve been at the forefront of the fight for traditional marriage and continue to do what we can. The marriage issue is in the courts at this point and we are always monitoring the matter keeping you informed of the latest developments.
- We’ve been in the very vanguard of new legislation to address the scourge of human trafficking in our state.
- We’ve supported and advanced pro-life legislation that the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics reveals has resulted in saving more than 8,000 unborn lives.
- We’ve helped communities defeat alcohol referendums that would increase dangerous levels of alcohol consumption.
- We not only helped get the law passed against sweepstakes gaming in the state, but we’ve also been helping get rid of sweepstakes parlors that still remain in certain communities.
- We’ve assisted opposition forces in Cleveland County in developing a culture of resistance to a proposed Catawba Indian Casino.
- We’ve been at the heart of two religious liberty bills that passed in the General Assembly – one that clarifies the rights of students and teachers in the public schools to express their faith without reprisal, while the other addresses the freedoms Christian student organizations should have on our University campuses.
And there is much more to do.
- Now that same sex marriage has become legal by judicial fiat, the urgent and current issue is religious liberty. North Carolina desperately needs a Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) – something that would be a priority for us.
- We don’t want to show our hand at this time, but let it simply be said that there is more pro-life work to do.
- Even though there are strong Republican majorities in both chambers of the North Carolina General Assembly, we anticipate there could be some gambling measures put forward that will require our opposition.
- Sources tell the Christian Action League there will be a major effort to overhaul our state’s alcohol policy to make way for expansion of the industry – something else that will need vigorous opposition.
- Sunday hunting – making hunting on Sundays legal will also be on the table – something the Christian Action League has always opposed.
With all of the other commitment to various ministries by the churches, etc., with all of the other interests people have this time of the year; it would be nothing less than a miracle for the Christian Action League to garner the necessary funds to clear out its debt before the beginning of the new fiscal year. Yet, this is exactly what must happen. And we are trusting God to do it.
WE NEED A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!

Will the favorable tide of God’s providence cast on our shore the funds we need to continue to doing our work of representing Christ in the public arena?
