Rev. Mark Creech: ‘U.S. Supreme Court Ruling Takes Us from Rock Bottom into the Realms of Hell’

Press Release

Today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that federal law prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Like the decision in favor of same-sex marriage, this ruling by the High Court turns out to be a profound twist of the Constitution, natural law, and inalienable rights. It was, unquestionably, political, and devoid of not only legal legitimacy but truth.

The Court has taken us from rock bottom and moved the country down into the realms of hell by doing the unspeakable. They have radically redefined “sex” by their ruling. Legally, the sex of an individual is now whatever that person thinks or says it is.

In ruling against common sense, Justices Gorsuch, Roberts, Breyer, Ginsburg, Sotomayer and Kagan, have opened the door for a host of injustices against the dignity, privacy, safety and equal opportunities of many women. It will definitely make matters more difficult for Christian employers and employees that hold to traditional beliefs about marriage and sex to navigate the minefield of lawsuits ready to be filed at even the slightest perception of discrimination. One’s faithfulness to God with regard to a biblical understanding of human sexuality has undoubtedly been placed on notice.

The Institution of the Supreme Court was never meant to be vested with such power – the power to decide such broad consequential societal questions unaddressed by the Constitution itself. In this particular decision, the Court did only what Congress is supposed to do – legislate.

We have been and remain in the throes of judicial tyranny. We are, as Daniel E. Horowitz described it, living in “societal transformation without representation.” We are in an “inexorable march towards a post-constitutional Sodom and Gomorrah.”

When two conservatives from the Court join in making such an outrageous ruling, the question becomes more pointed than ever: Can our republic survive?  It’s not looking good with each passing day. Liberty is on the line, and there’s a fifth column, which is a rogue judiciary, and with rulings like this one, it’s laying the seeds of our destruction.
