By Jeff Larson, The Back Pew
“A man had visited church after church trying to find a congenial congregation, and finally he stopped at a little church just as the congregation was participating in a responsive reading with the minister, ‘We have left undone those things we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done.’ The man slipped into a pew with a sigh of relief and said, ‘Thank goodness I have found my crowd at last.’
“Church is not really a museum for saints, but a hospital for sinners. Though we must ever be striving to a higher level of sanctification, let us remember of each other that we are only flesh. Let us rebuke, admonish and instruct each other as necessary, but let us do it with grace, lest we fall.”
