Attend the Christian Action League’s Convention in Your Area

Set your calendar and make plans to attend today

For years the Christian Action League’s Annual Meeting has been held in Asheboro, North Carolina. But the cost and availability of gasoline, as well as Asheboro’s inaccessibility for many, has become a matter of concern. Therefore, the Christian Action League will break from tradition this year and try something new.

Because the legislative issues before our great state in 2009 are likely to be both urgent and critical, we need optimum participation at our Annual Meeting. That’s why we have divided all North Carolina counties into three regions – Western, Central, and Eastern Conventions. Three regional Annual Meetings will be held at the following times and locations:

Western Convention Annual Meeting, October 28

Oxford Memorial Baptist Church (Alexander County)
2850 Old NC 90
Taylorsville, North Carolina
From 6:30 pm. – 9:00 pm.

Central Convention Annual Meeting, November 20

Coats Baptist Church (Harnett County)
554 North McKinley Street
Coats, North Carolina
From 6:30 pm. – 9:00 pm.

Eastern Convention Annual Meeting, November 17

Grace Church (Pitt County)
3551 South Charles Boulevard
Greenville, NC
From 6:30 pm. – 9:00 pm.

The program for each region will be the same. This year’s line-up of speakers will provide the best analysis of pending legislative and public policy issues affecting the moral climate of the Tar Heel State. Slated to speak are:

John Rustin, Vice President and Head of Government Relations for the North Carolina Family Policy Council. Rustin will discuss a number of family related issues, but the most important will be his report on the current status of North Carolina’s pressing need for an amendment to its Constitution to define marriage as “one man and one woman.”

Barbara Holt, President of North Carolina Right to Life. Holt will address many of the pro-life issues facing North Carolina. Issues such as the refusal by North Carolina’s legislative leadership in both chambers to allow any pro-life legislation to be considered.

L.A. Williams, Director of Research and Communications, Christian Action League. Williams, a part time staff member of the Christian Action League, will address the possibility of the privatization of liquor sales in 2009, as well as a recent push to legalize medicinal marijuana in the NC General Assembly

Rev. Mark Creech

Rev. Mark Creech, Executive Director of the Christian Action League. Rev. Creech will be the last speaker for the evening. His remarks are expected to be challenging and inspirational as usual.

Each program will also include a time for special music and an offering. A business session will conclude the meeting. Refreshments will be provided afterwards.

These meetings are critical to the success of CAL’s ministry. Please look below and find under which Convention your county is listed. You are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting in your Convention.

Unlike Annual Meetings of the past, there is no need to pre-register. However, if you are an Advisory Board Member of the Christian Action League or a Pastor, please check in at the registration table for the Advisory Board Member’s or Pastor’s packets.
