Do you ever feel that there just aren’t enough hours in the day? That’s the way I’ve been feeling lately.
Let me tell you about something that happened to me and my wife, Kim.
We’ve been displaced from our home for about six weeks. We had a hot-water heater incident that dumped gallons of water onto the floors of our house, ruining every floor except one back bedroom. The floors are currently being replaced and the Insurance Company has put us up in an apartment in Wilson, which is not far from where we live.
Such a project is monumental. Our insurance is taking care of most of the expenses, but it’s the problems you meet along the way that can really cost you in time and money. This is what Kim and I have been working on all week together.
Tearing up baseboards where the floor was damaged requires putting down new ones and then painting them. But then, this requires repainting the entire room to make everything match again. Geeeesh!!! So we’re in a rush to repaint the inside of the house before the workers putting down the new floors arrive.
Talking about not having enough hours in the day! There is no possibly way I can take care of this family emergency and as editor of the CAL Insider have its content ready for you this week. I apologize and humbly request your patience.

But this also precipitates an opportunity for me to raise awareness to a long-standing need of the Christian Action League. You see, if we had additional staff, which we have desperately needed for several years, I could just designate my responsibilities for the work to be done.
Would you pray with us about this need?
Meanwhile, the summer months are when giving drops the lowest for the League. Yet our expenses continue.
Would you consider making a generous personal contribution to the Christian Action League at this time? Perhaps you would consider sending a gift of $25, $50, $100 or more. In a ministry like this one, your gift, whether large or small, truly makes a difference.
Maybe you could pass this request along to your pastor and the church could take up a love offering for CAL. Would there be discretionary funds available which might be sent? What about a missions group in the church, would they have funds they could send?
Make no mistake; the Christian Action League is missions. I am very much a missionary to lawmakers in the North Carolina General Assembly.
Gifts may be sent to:

One more thing: Please pray for us. If you can’t make a financial contribution, you can pray. And I really mean it when I say that we covet your prayers more than anything you could do on our behalf. You may not be able to give and pray, but you can always pray!
Please pause and pray for me and Kim at this time. Pray for CAL, its staff, and its need for additional staff. Don’t forget to also pray for the great state of North Carolina and our country, the United States of America.
Thank you so much.
