During the months of campaigning for North Carolina’s Marriage Protection Amendment in 2012, I went to nearly every county of our state stumping for its passage. I told numerous audiences of church people at that time that the legalization of same-sex marriage would create a sea of change ultimately ending in gay activists attacking the free speech of ministers and churches. Gay activists said such arguments were scare-tactics. Yet here we are, even our churches are now being told that they have to amend their teachings, comply with new laws or face punishment from the government.
YOU’RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS, BUT IT’S TRUE!
Right now in the great state of Iowa, the Fort De Moines Church of Christ in Des Moines, a small fellowship that describes itself as “simply trying to be faithful to God’s Word,” has filed a federal lawsuit. They’re seeking to preserve the right of the church to teach biblical sexuality, as well as to prevent the government from forcing them to open their restrooms and shower rooms to members of the opposite sex.
Don’t believe me? Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a law firm that specializes in First Amendment cases, is representing the church in Fort Des Moines Church of Christ v. Jackson. Take just a moment, it’s worth the time, click on the link below and view this short video posted on YouTube by ADF:

For more than two years, the Christian Action League has been offering seminars to churches and various denominational groups, sharing with them basic steps they need to take to protect their religious autonomy.

Some have wisely acted on these, while most, unfortunately, still don’t understand the reality or the urgency of the situation.
To arrange for the seminar, “Protecting Your Church’s Religious Liberty,” contact the office of the Christian Action League at office@christianactionleague.org or phone 919.787.0606.
IT IS TIME FOR CHURCHES TO WAKE UP!!! OUR WITNESS FOR CHRIST IS AT STAKE!!! PLEASE DO SOMETHING!
The Christian Action League is on the frontlines in the North Carolina General Assembly working to protect your religious liberties.
Unashamedly, our fingerprints are on SB 2 – Magistrates Recusal for Civil Ceremonies – a bill that allows magistrates and assistant or deputy registers of deeds to opt-out of the issuance of a same-sex marriage license or the performance of a same-sex civil ceremony, whenever such public servants hold a sincere religious objection.
Unashamedly, our fingerprints are on HB 2 – Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act – a measure that prohibits men from using the women’s restroom, locker room, or showers and vice versa – a measure that protects businesses with the right to operate in accordance with their religious beliefs without being punished by the government. This is the bill that created a national firestorm, largely coming from a Leftist media’s smear campaign, gay rights activists, politically liberal celebrities, and big corporate entities.
We were an integral part in Press Conferences back in March urging state lawmakers to call a special session to pass HB 2 and overturn Charlotte’s egregious city ordinance. Charlotte’s ordinance would have forced churches in the Queen City, like the one in Iowa, to open their public bathroom facilities to members of the opposite sex.
At the onset of the HB 2 controversy, when the battle was the hottest, we spearheaded two rallies in Raleigh to support legislative leaders who passed HB 2 and our Governor for signing it. The first rally, which was organized in less than 10 days, garnered more than 1000 people on the lawn of the Capitol Building. The second rally, working with our friends from Return America, resulted in more than 5,000 people on the Halifax Mall. During each rally people exuberantly cheered their support for HB 2.

Both SB 2 and HB 2 are now in the courts because aberrant and irrational Progressives are determined to knock them down and silence any religious objection to the LGBTQ way of life. If opposition forces succeed, we will have to fight even harder.
THE CHRISTIAN ACTION LEAGUE IS TRULY ON THE FRONTLINES OF THE FIGHT TO PRESERVE RELIGIOUS LIBERTY IN NORTH CAROLINA!
THE FIGHT IS ONGOING AND IT IS IMPERATIVE GOD’S PEOPLE AWAKEN, ROLL UP THEIR SLEEVES, AND EVERYONE CONTRIBUTE IN SOME WAY TO PUSHING BACK THE DARKNESS.
YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR WORK IS DESPERATELY NEEDED.

- Please pray for the ministry of the Christian Action League. If I have said this once, it seems I have said it a thousand times; there is nothing more important that we can do when facing a serious challenge than to pray. To pray without working to change a matter can be futile. To work to change a matter without praying can also be futile. We need the Lord’s blessing and power.
Please pray for me and the ministry of the Christian Action League. Of course, don’t forget to earnestly pray for our state and nation’s leaders. Pray for a revival in our churches and a Great Spiritual Awakening for America.
Invite me, CAL’s Executive Director, to speak at your function or church. One of my most important ministries is speaking about the issues of our day to various Christian groups and during church services. It’s also critical to explain from the Scriptures in a non-partisan way why the church should be engaged in the political process – bringing the Gospel of Christ to bear upon it.
I currently have a number of open dates available between now and the end of the year. You can contact the office of the Christian Action League to set up a speaking engagement by email or phone. My Administrative Assistant, John deRosset, will gladly help you make the arrangements. I assure you that it is a very easy and the conditions are more than reasonable. Please contact us without delay.

If you need to pray about these requests, please do. Still, do something!
The Scriptures admonish us, “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” (Eph. 5:6).
If you can’t believe what’s happening now, just wait and see what’s going to happen if so many of God’s people keep standing on the sidelines and do nothing.
I urge you to respond. Forward this email along to your family members, your Christian colleagues at work, your Pastor and church family.
God Bless,
Dr. Mark Creech
