RALEIGH – “From time to time people will ask whether the Christian Action League provides voter guides for the upcoming election,” said Dr. Mark Creech, executive director. “We don’t, but I am always glad to say we know who prepares an excellent one – our friends from the North Carolina Family Policy Council (NCFPC).”
This week the NCFPC announced they are now accepting pre-orders for their 2014 General Election Voter Guide. The faith-based organization surveyed more than 320 candidates
running for a wide-array of seats, including U.S. Senate, U.S. House, N.C. Supreme Court, NC Court of Appeals, NC Senate, and NC House.
The Voters Guide is 16 pages of a comprehensive impartial, non-partisan look at the candidates’ views on matters of great consequence to Christians. It provides the candidates’ responses to questions on issues such as marriage, sanctity of human life, budget and taxes, school choice, sex education, gambling, religious liberty, and much more.
“Christians in our state, perhaps greater than ever, need to make a sincere effort to be as informed about the issues of our day as possible. They need to know the candidates’ positions on key subjects before casting their votes in November,” said Dr. Creech. “God’s people ought to let the Word of God and the Holy Spirit be their supreme guide. It should be anathema for any Christian to vote simply for a candidate because of his or her party. Voter Guides like the one provided by the North Carolina Family Policy Council empower Christians with critical information. Such information helps them determine a candidate’s principles – something considerably more important than whether they are a Republican, Democrat, or a Libertarian” he added.
Churches and civic organizations are encouraged to contact the North Carolina Family Policy Council to order their 2014 Voter Guides for distribution. They can order them now in bulk free of charge.
Interested parties can simply contact the NCFPC by emailing them at voterguide@ncfamily.org or by phone at 919.807.0800. The following information is requested:

John Rustin, president of the North Carolina Family Policy Council, told the Christian Action League that all pre-orders are expected to be mailed out the week of October 5th. He said that in addition to the print version of the Guide, their organization would also be unveiling a new 2014 Voter Guide website the first of next month that will include additional information and responses from the candidates.
“I believe that if God’s people would just take seriously their civic, as well as Christian duty to be a well-informed electorate, and then, were as zealous about getting to the polls to cast their vote according to the principles of their faith, it would undoubtedly set this nation on a new course of righteousness for Christ’s sake,” said Dr. Creech.
