“The Puritans celebrated thanksgiving, partly because they were saved from the Indians. Today, I think most Americans celebrate being saved from the Puritans. How foolish!
“The Puritans were a people of tremendous Christian character. We ought to hold them up in many ways as examples. They contributed so much of what made us a great nation. However, secularists and the immoral ridicule them. Instead, they deserve our gratitude – not to be mocked. They bravely ventured into the unknown and came to these shores primarily for religious freedom. Yet we watch every branch of our government these days working to erode religious freedom. We’re not thankful! We’ve become too stupid to know what to be grateful for.”
