“Cleve Wilkie, Baptist preacher, evangelist, author and columnists, was a delightful fellow to be around. He had an exceptionally quick wit. Sometime after he retired, I asked him, “Cleve, how are you finding retirement?” He responded in his folksy way, “Well, ain’t nothing quit but the paycheck.” Some people see retirement as a chance to quit in life. But retirement can present new opportunities of service for the Lord. It’s sad the way some people plan for retirement, but then never plan to meet God. It’s sad when Christians fail to realize that God isn’t finished with them just because they retired. When we know the Lord, we never retire from his service.”
