“Recently, I was thinking to myself about the amount of time one gets caught up reading posts on Facebook. Don’t misunderstand me, I think social media has its place. But it seems to me that we spend way too much time reading magazines, newspapers, periodicals, articles on the internet, books of fiction, etc. and hardly any time reading our Bibles. How foolish to trade feasting on God’s Word for the morsels of this world! There is no time like the beginning of the New Year to commit to a plan for reading through the Bible. I never knew anyone who did this earnestly who was disappointed. When I was a teenager, my father suggested that I start reading the Bible. It was then that faith in the Living Word, Jesus Christ, burst to life in my bosom.”
