“I hear the gurgling sound of a nation dying. Its pulse of character is hardly beating. I plead with God to save America, if for no other reason than the one he promised Abraham that he would be willing to spare Sodom – just a few righteous people. O gracious Lord, don’t cut down the tree, let it stand for a while longer. Let us dig around its roots and fertilize it so it might bear fruit. After this, if your justice must be satisfied, then cut it down” (Matthew 13:7-9).
