Christian Action League
The Christian Action League is pleased to introduce its new intern, Tirrell Listenbee of Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Listebee is a passionate Christian who believes that the Bible addresses and answers the political issues of today. He says that he earnestly hopes by serving as an intern, he can be a positive influence for Christ, his fellow North Carolinians, and his country by taking a stand for proper and fair government laws.
Listenbee has a Bachelors degree in Aviation Science from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. He is currently employed as a Captain with a U.S. major airline.
Listenbee also has close ties with the ministry of the Raleigh-based Upper Room Church of God in Christ.
As a member of that fellowship, he has served as Vice President on the Board at the Upper Room Christian Academy. The Upper Room Christian Academy is a 5-star early childhood educational program, which according to its website “seeks to challenge every student through a rigorous biblically integrated curriculum that not only transforms the mind but the body and soul.”
However, not to be confused with its early childhood educational program, Listenbee is a student at The North Carolina Third COGIC Academy, which is a newly launched adult education program with an objective of providing ministry-minded individuals with opportunities for biblical, theological, and practical ministry training.
The new school is the vision of the pastor of the Upper Room Church of God and Bishop to the North Carolina Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, Patrick L. Wooden, Sr.
Rev. Mark Creech, executive director of the Christian Action League, is a member of the faculty at NC Third COGIC Academy and is slated to begin teaching elective classes in apologetics and civics in September of this year.
Listenbee says, “I wholeheartedly believe in what my church is doing.” His internship with the Christian Action League is part of his practical ministry training.
Bishop Wooden says Listenbee is “one of the finest Christians I’ve ever known. This brother is truly first class. He is worth his salt.”
Rev. Creech said that Listenbee shadowed him in the halls of the North Carolina General Assembly this week, and has attended one very important legislative meeting.
“I’ve been introducing him to lawmakers, and he’s already underway with research on a major legislative initiative. I can see he’s not only a very smart man, but also deeply committed to the things of the Lord. That’s the kind of individual I need at my side,” said Creech.
Creech added that the Christian Action League has always networked with African-American churches, but Listenbee is the very first black student to serve as an intern and to become an integral part of its lobbying activity.
Creech said, “I’m sincerely delighted and earnestly thank God for him.”
Listenbee is married to Latonya, and they are the proud parents of one child, their daughter, Tyra.
