“I have many unanswered questions concerning eschatology – the Christian doctrine of last things. But we seem to be seeing current events that Jesus said we could expect before his arrival a second time. He said lawlessness would spread, and the love of one’s neighbor would grow cold. He prophesied, ‘You will hear of wars and commotions’ (Lk. 21:9). The word ‘commotions’ refers to rebellions, the attempt to overturn the government and revolution, disorder and anarchy, wars of great consequence on a global scale – all of these are signs of an approaching end and birth pangs of his coming Kingdom on earth. You better get ready!”
