Conservative radio host and commentator Rush Limbaugh passed Wednesday, February 17th. Legendary Christian singer Carman Dominic Licciardello, better known as Carman, died the day before. Carman helped thousands into the kingdom of God. If it hadn’t been for the clarity that Limbaugh’s commentary brought to the political arena, our country would have likely already fallen.
God sends us great people who are truly gifts. Their space with us is but for a while. Sometimes we recognize their worth beforehand, sometimes only later. They go to their reward, and we pick up the baton. We would not try to be exactly like them, lest we fail to find our own place in God’s providential assignment. Nevertheless, they have provided a lighted path, which we do well to follow. We thank God for them and trust that the God who gave them can fill the void left when they’re taken.
