“My mother-in-law loves the Lord, and at 88 years old, she’s eager to go to heaven. A couple of years ago, she had surgery for a sizeable non-cancerous tumor in her abdomen. However, doctors told her that the surgery could still be life-threatening at her advanced age. Despite the odds, it didn’t seem to matter to her that she might die. In fact, she was hoping the procedure might not go well, and off to glory, she would fly.
“After the surgery, she was in the recovery room and started coming out from under anesthesia. She peeked out of one eye and looked around and could see she was still earth-bound. Disappointed, she said pretty demonstrably, ‘Oh crap!’
“How hilarious is that!
“It’s only someone assured of a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ that can anticipate with such joy the prospect of their own passing.”
