Some may accuse me of hyperbole; nevertheless, it remains no less true that this election will determine the direction of our beloved country for a generation or more. It may determine our future altogether as a genuinely free republic.
This is no time to be distracted from our citizenship duties. And no duty is greater in a Representative Democracy than our duty to vote. Through the decades of American history men and women have suffered great loss, even given their own lives, to afford us this blessed privilege.
I urge you to vote on Tuesday, November 6th. Every vote counts. What is more, I urge to vote your Christian values.
John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States admonished:
“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
Please don’t forget the judicial races, and no race is more critical for the state than the seat for the NC Supreme Court. The Christian Action League has endorsed Paul Newby for that seat. Last week, Newby was behind his opponent, Sam “Jimmy” Ervin IV, in the polls. Ervin is endorsed by the premiere homosexual activist organization, Equality NC, as well as a host of other liberal groups. They aren’t endorsing him for nothing.
Newby stands for everything conservative evangelical Christians hold dear. I hope you will vote for him.
What is more, don’t forget if you vote a straight-party ballot, you will have to mark the presidential race and the non-partisan races, including the judicial races, separately. Don’t miss that very important detail. Make your vote count for all the races.
Last, but certainly not least. It pains me to report that we are struggling financially at this hour. So severe is that struggle that staff has missed payroll for more than a week.
